Enrichment
Along with experiences we offer through visits and visitors in our school as part of the 'INQUIRE' phase in our curriculum learning, we have, for many years, also provided our Year 2 children with the amazing weekend residential where they undertake a range of activities and stay overnight.
Over the past couple of years, we had our residential at school and had fun doing a variety of different adventure activities:
Caving, rock climbing, archery and much more.
Trips
Year 2 children enjoy an activity weekend hosted at school. See below for some of the fun activities they got up to.
Clubs
We run a variety of lunchtime clubs in school as chosen by the children. The School Learning Council meetings collate the ideas of all children.
Some of the clubs on offer include:
Maths club- where children have fun with Maths games and applying taught concepts
Board Games- learning to take turns and have fun
Disney club- to draw, colour, watch and chat all things Disney
Music Club- to try something new- Ocarina is the instrument in focus currently
BookFlix- widening the passion for books and reading- our current focus Author is Michael Rosen
Science Lab- where we complete experiments and make predictions
Cross Stitch- learning the skills to make a simple pattern / picture
Craft club- making creative items, seasonally linked
Choir- to exercise the vocal chords and sing in harmony
Lego Club- to build using your imagination
to name some of them.
Children also have the opportunity to do cooking and play football during the school day.
