Book Week- October 2019
We have chosen the theme of Julia Donaldson Books this Year in school. On Thursday February 28th, the children dressed up as a character from a Julia Donaldson book. It may have been their favourite character or a character they know. A little creativity and recycling some household objects and old clothes made great costumes that were much more impressive and special than having bought one from a shop. The teachers costumes looked incredbible too! We were amazed at how original people were and we had many duplicated characters!
Opposite is an example of a selection of the wonderful books from Julia Donaldson, but she has written over 26 titles. So there are plenty to choose from!
Congratulations for all entries in the Julia Donaldson character competition- the closing date was Tuesday 5th March and the winners are displayed in the corridor by the hall. Well done to everyone for taking part.
We shared a story for 10 minutes every day in Book Week and the chidlren loved it.

Share a Story for 10 minutes every day in Book Week.

Share a Story is the current theme of the campaign, to get the nation sharing stories from breakfast to bedtime on World Book Day and every day! Encompassing schools, bookshops, libraries, businesses and homes nationwide World Book Day will be celebrating and promoting the key message that spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children and young people can make a crucial difference to their future. In school, we will be spending (at least) 10 minutes each day sharing stories as a class, in groups and with friends. Let us know how and when you have shared your stories.
How to use your World Book Day token (by March 31st).
It is easy!

Or, if you’d prefer, you can use your book token to get £1 off any full price book instead. If you’d rather get an audiobook, that’s fine too! It’s your choice, just as long as the book or audiobook costs £2.99 or more. The tokens will be sent home during Book Week, so you can enjoy choosing your free book or you can save £1 on any book costing £2.99 or more.
