PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) education is a subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepared for life and work. Our PSHE curriculum aims to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk-management, team working and critical thinking in the context of three core themes: health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world.

In June 2019 The Department for Education published statutory guidance for Health Education, Relationships Education and RSE.  This covers broad areas of particular relevance and concern to children and young people today. It should ensure that every child is guaranteed a PSHE education that covers mental health and wellbeing, physical health (including healthy lifestyles and first aid) and learning about safe, healthy relationships. This will become a statutory part of primary education from September 2020.

We follow the Medway agreed syllabus for Religious Education. In all year groups our core theme is based on and comparison with Christianity. Children learn about beliefs, morals, ceremonies and places of worship and through this, children also learn about British Values.

Children will also learn about beliefs and values in other religions, such as Judaism, Sikhism and others.

Religious Education learning happens through whole class teaching, collective worship and through a cross curricular approach.
